300 turkeys donated by Live! Casino and Hotel
Since 2012, Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland has been making an annual donation of turkeys to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank to help make the holiday season much brighter for hundreds of families in Anne Arundel County. It’s an event that both organizations look forward to and this year, Live! Casino & Hotel donated 5,400 pounds of turkey to help fill holiday baskets.
Without contributions like that of Live! Casino & Hotel, it would be extremely hard for us to meet the increased demand for food during the winter months. Nearly 7,000 households have requested food baskets from our member agencies for Thanksgiving and we anticipate the same number of requests for Christmas as well. Each of these 300 turkeys will be distributed to an Anne Arundel County household in need this holiday season.
However, more turkeys and donations are still needed to help meet the need in our community.
“If you have the ability to give a donation of $40, that allows us to feed a family this holiday season,” Paley said. “That includes a chicken or turkey, healthy options like potatoes, onions, apples and sides. We are grateful for anything you can give today.”
Your support could not come at a better time. Many of our neighbors continue to turn to our pantry partners for food, despite their hard work every day to provide for themselves and their families. Since July, pantry partners report they are assisting 185% more households than they did pre-COVID. Please help make the holidays a little brighter for families in our community by donating today.
