FY2021 Impact Report

Dear Friends of the Anne Arundel County Food Bank,

While the pandemic continued to turn life upside down for all of us this past year, it also renewed our deep commitment to our most central purpose: ensuring that people have the nutritious food required to thrive. Yesterday we hosted our Fiscal Year 2021 Impact Report presentation, where we celebrated the past year’s accomplishments. Our ability to respond to the increased demand for our services was possible thanks to caring supporters like you; thank you to each of you who joined our virtual Zoom event or watched the presentation live from Facebook.
If you missed it, please watch the video recording or read the report:

The demand for food assistance across Anne Arundel County over the past twelve months was unprecedented, making it challenging for our 114 member agencies to keep up with the requests for food and other basic necessities. At the height of the pandemic, our member agencies assisted five times the number of households each month than they did prior to the pandemic; up from an average of 5,600 households to 34,000 households.

Through collaboration with amazing partners, the generosity of donors, and our staff and volunteers’ dedication and ingenuity, we developed new and better ways to support our neighbors. We give thanks to all who share in our commitment to end food insecurity here in Anne Arundel County!

With sincere gratitude and appreciation,

Leah Paley, LMSW
