The 11th annual Heritage Harbour food drive is a wild success!

11th Annual Heritage Harbour Food Drive

Many hands came together for the Heritage Harbour Civic Association’s 11th Annual Food Drive this June to collect food and raise funds for the Anne Arundel County Food Bank (AACFB). In just one day, the crew of over 40 volunteers went to 1,800 units in Heritage Harbour to collect 5,320 pounds of food and $13,000+ in monetary donations for the Anne Arundel County Food Bank.

“The Heritage Harbour annual food drive is held during one of our slowest months for food drive donations,” said Marta Jones who coordinates food drives for AACFB. “Their support for our neighbors in need comes at a time when more families are feeling the squeeze with skyrocketing grocery bills and high gas prices. With limited resources, it is difficult for many families to afford groceries and pay their monthly bills.”

Generosity like that of the Heritage Harbour community is the reason why AACFB can serve over 42,000 of our neighbors each month (a 205% increase from before the pandemic) — that’s over 2,673,152 million meals to our under-resourced neighbors in Anne Arundel County this fiscal year!
