As inflation increases, households must spend a higher percentage of income on goods and services with a devastating impact. This one-hour talk will feature Dr. Pam Brown as she references her extensive research collected over the last 25 years. Dr. Brown will highlight how inflation may be worsening food insecurity for many families in our County. Event participants will also hear from the Anne Arundel County Food Bank and learn more about our work to meet the food needs in our county, as well as our most pressing challenges.

This event is part of Hunger Action Month activities, helping to raise awareness about food insecurity in Anne Arundel County while also inspiring community members to take action to fight hunger. Participants in the Passport Challenge will receive an Action Code during the event giving them a chance to win prizes AND generate a $5 donation to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank!

About our featured speaker:

Dr. Pamela Brown

Executive Director of Anne Arundel County Partnership for Children, Youth & Families

Dr. Pamela Brown is currently the Executive Director of the Anne Arundel County Partnership for Children, Youth and Families; one of the 24 Maryland Local Management Boards. She has held several leadership positions over the past 30 years; in government and in the not-for-profit sector. Throughout her career, she has worked on addressing inequities across government and educational systems. She completed her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Florida Atlantic University. Her dissertation focused on the importance of community partnerships in low-income neighborhoods to improve outcomes for children and families. She has been conducting community needs assessments for over 25 years.
