Volunteer Opportunities

Drivers

Drivers needed to help pick up donations throughout AA County.  CDL NOT REQUIRED. Help needed most in the morning between 9am - 12 noon. Monday - Friday

Sort Food Donations

Help needed to sort canned food and produce/perishable foods for distribution to pantries and on-site feeding agencies. Flexible schedule. 

Program Services

Help is needed from set up to break down to distribute food through pop-up pantry events around the county.  

Office Work

Help process monthly reports, preform data entry or other office work. Needed during work week Mon - Fri 9 am - 3 pm. Flexible schedule available.

Receptionist

Help answer phones, schedule appointments and help clients find the closest pantry to their home. Help needed during the work week Mon - Fri 9 am - 3 pm. Flexible schedule available.

Cook / Chef

Volunteer to prepare meals for our volunteers and staff . Help needed Mon - Fri and occasionally on Saturdays. Volunteers may help 1 day a week or every day.  Help needed from 9 am to 12 noon.

Other Opportunities Available

  1. Are you creative. The AA Co Food Bank would like to have a virtual tour created for our website. 
  2. Host a Food or Fund Drive to support the AACFB.
  3. Bring a group to volunteer the day at the AACFB. 
  4. Help up-cycle some donated furniture and make it more appealing with a new coat of paint, etc.  ready to help a needy client


STEPS TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER

STEPS TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER

  1. Complete Volunteer Application
  2. Attend Volunteer Orientation
  3. Complete Background Check or DOT Physical (if needed)
  4. Sign Up To Volunteer With Our Volunteer Coordinator


Please Note:

  • You must complete all steps and be approved before signing up for a volunteer shift with the volunteer coordinator. 
  • We do not accept court ordered volunteers.
  • We do accept service learning volunteers  (School, Scouts, etc.)
  • You must be 18 years to volunteer as an individual.
  • Volunteers 9-17 years old must be accompanied by an adult that is at least 21 years old. 1 adult chaperone required for every 4 youth volunteers.  
  • Volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes. No shorts or tank tops. 
  • Physical requirements vary by activity, please check with the volunteer coordinator. 
  • Group volunteers must be able to stand for up to the three hours.
