New Volunteer Office Dedication

The newly added Volunteer Office was dedicated in the memory of Anne Arundel County Food Bank Volunteer, Cynthia L. Pond: a giving heart, a gentle soul, a sunny smile, a forever friend.

Cindy passed away in March of 2020 and in her passing, she left behind significant gift to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank (AACFB). The AACFB team wanted to honor Cindy with her legacy gift, and the best way to do that was to build the Volunteer Office inside our warehouse that was badly needed to support our volunteers and dedicate it in her name. We hope that everyone who enters this office will feel inspired to embody Cindy’s dedication to the eliminate food insecurity throughout Anne Arundel County while also feeling some of the joy Cindy brought to the AACFB team of staff and volunteers.

Everyone at AACFB loves our volunteers, and we loved Cindy dearly. We are proud to have this space to keep her memory alive at AACFB.

Surrounding the center picture of Cindy are the people who attended of the dedication ceremony. Her sister and long-time AACFB volunteer, Chris Pokorny, was joined by staff, volunteers, board members, and friends during the ceremony.
