Member Agency Spotlight: Holy Temple Cathedral

• Pounds distributed: 3,000 pounds of food and baby supplies monthly.

The Holy Temple Cathedral Food and Baby Pantry has been seeing an increase in families who are taking advantage of their pantry, especially after the Early Head Start Program opened. The location of the pantry is close to the Head Start location and also the local Elementary School which gives families easy access to food, baby food, and diapers.

Typically, it takes eight volunteers to hold the monthly food and baby pantry distribution. Volunteers pick up food at the Anne Arundel County Food Bank and another group helps at the church with the distribution. Mr. Marty is a stand-out volunteer, who has been serving their team for the past two years. He travels from Severna Park to Edgewater by bicycle (2 hours!) to volunteer and help with the distribution.

Overall, their work as a Member Agency Partner has provided an opportunity to meet individual family needs and develop relationships with families that surround the Edgewater community.

Holy Temple Cathedral is located at 135 Stepneys Lane, Edgewater, MD 21037 and is open on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 1:00pm and until the food runs out.
